Nicaragua suffers a huge social injustice. 78% of the population is economically poor and survive on less than $ 2 per day, while 2% of the population live in extreme wealth. Poverty is highly concentrated in the north of the country and in the autonomous regions on the Atlantic coast.
Poverty strongly affects children, adolescents and youth. In Nicaragua 71% of the population is young, ie under 30 years and 52% are in the ages 0-18.
